JAMMU, July 29: J&K UT Kalaripayattu Championship-2023 organized by Kalaripayattu Association of J&K concluded at Indoor Complex Stadium Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
Over 350 players from different districts of J&K participated in High Kick, Kaipporu, Chuvadukal and long stick fighting events in the championship with great zeal and enthusiasm.
During the concluding ceremony, Manjeet Singh, Chairman, SGSD International School was the chief guest. While Dr. KC Mehta Singh, Principal, International Delhi Public School, Jammu was the guest of honour, while special guests present were Rohini Aima, Principal, Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, Sonia Pawar, Principal SGSD International School, Jammu, Atul Hans, Principal, International Daily Rising School, Jammu and Tarsem Sharma, Founder Kalaripayattu J&K.
The gold medal winners were Shaheer Javeed, Uzaif Ahmed, Muneeb Wani, Jumaid Ahmed Malik, Vikalp Jamwal, Faizan Sofi, Palak Sharma, Rishika Sharma, Yashasvi Bhagat, Himadri Singh Rana, Dua Mukhtar, Jaideep Manhas and Saksham Langeh.
The silver medal winners are Suhail Ahmed, Zamid Riyaz, Dhruv Sharma, Asif Riyaz, Sparsh, Huzaif Ahmed, Nashaal, Simran, Deepanshu and Shivansh. While those won bronze were Satvik, Ayesha Abid, Tanzeela Nair, Taleyn, Naveed Fayaz, Saqib Haqat, Davik Tikko, Azim Feroz, Umar, Haseeb Imtiyaz, Danish Gulzar and Raju.
The championship was organized under the leadership of Danish Sharma, General Secretary, and Kalaripayattu Association of J&K and hosted by District Jammu Kalaripayattu Association under the supervision of Harshvardhan Raina, Secretary District Jammu Kalaripayattu Association.
