DODA, June 6: Expressing serious concern over inadequate supply of drinking water and electricity in the area resulting into lot of sufferings to the masses, particularly during the pious days of Ramzan, Himalayan Social Welfare and Anti-Corruption Society, Kalhota, has appealed the district administration to take necessary steps for ensuring un-interrupted power supply and regular water.
The appeal was made during a general body meeting of the Society, here today under the chairmanship of Faqir Chand Arman, its president, for discussing the issues and problems of the locals.
The meet demanded upgradation of Government High School Humbal and High School Malhori to Higher Secondary level and Middle School Kalhora to High School. Faqir Chand urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister of State for Education, Shakti Raj Parihar for a Degree College in Ghowa so that students of the area may get higher education.
The Society also demanded opening of an Alopathic first aid centre in Kalhota and Hud, proper medical facilities at hospital in Khillani and land settlement in district Doda.
The meeting was attended by Vipan Kumar, Uttam Singh, Saroop Singh, Suram Chand, Suresh Kumar, Mohd Rashid Narwani, Rajinder Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Asgar Ali, Sagra Singh, Mohd Iqbal, Sunil Singh and others.
