SRINAGAR, May 3: Open State Taekwon-Do Championship 2013 was thrown open today at Indoor Stadium, Srinagar in which 400 children drawn from all the districts of Valley participated.
MLA Hazratbal, Dr Mustafa Kamal was the chief guest on the occasion.
Three sports persons including Kareha Javaid who has bagged gold medal, Anciatulhawora winners of bronze medal and M. Anam Khan who participated in International tournament in Malaysia were felicitated by the dignitaries on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Dr Kamal asked the participants to take this sports activity serious and earn laurels not only for the State but also for the nation adding that the members of Parliament and Members Legislative Counicl of the State should contribute to make the event successful.
On this occasion, MLA donated 2 sets of Taekwon-Do mates to be used in the camps being organized from time to time in various districts of the State.
Among others, President, J&K Taekwon-Do Association and Technical Director attended the function.
