Kartik, Gurpeet, Anirudh emerge winners in Rifle Shooting Sub Junior event

KATHUA, Nov 12: Kartik Salaria secured first position, while, Gurpeet singh and Anirudh Singh were declared second and third respectively in Rifle Shooting (Sub Junior) event, organised during 4th J&K State Shooting Championship, which concluded today at Rajiv Gandhi College of Education.
On the concluding day, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Zahida Khan was the chief guest, while, Dr Rubinder Kour was guest of honour. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone and President, J&K Rifle Association, Dilbag Singh, district president Sohan Lal Sharma were also present.
In the championship, about 100 shooters from different districts participated and exhibited their skills.
While speaking, Zahida Khan said that such championship should be organized frequently to boost up the sports environment in the State.
In Air Rifle Shooting Competition (Junior) Boys event, Aman Singh, Sunil Kumar Sharma and Sanjay Baboria, all from Jammu secured first, second and third positions declared second and third respectively.
In Air rifle (Senior) Men event, Ranjit Chopra and Tarun Dev Sing, both from Jammu secured first and second positions respectively, while, Devinder Singh of Kathua claimed third position.
In Air Rifle (Junior) Girls event, Deepika Singh of Jammu and Ridhima from Kathua secured first and second positions respectively.
In Air Rifle (Senior) Women event, Joythsna and Swati Mishra from Jammu claimed first and second positions respectively, while, Divya Sharma from Kathua claimed third position.
In Air Pistol (Senior) Men event, Vijay Kumar and and Mohan Lal, both from JKP secured first and second positions respectively, while, Surjeet Singh from Jammu claimed third slot.
Later, DDC distributed prizes, trophies and track suits among the winner.
At the end, vote of thanks was presented by the Vice president of District Rifle Association Kathua KK Bakshi.
Among others present were SSP Samba, SP Kathua, SP, Police Training Centre, Kathua, Chairman Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Pankaj Dogra and members of organising committee.
