Kashmir boys outplay Jammu, Jammu eves thrash Kashmir counterparts

JAMMU, Jan 28: Kashmir division boys defeated their counterparts in Jammu division, while Jammu division girls drubbed eves of Kashmir division by convincing margins in the State Level Inter-Division Under-17 Boys and Girls Handball Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at District Police Line ground, here.
In the boys section, Kashmir got better of Jammu by eleven goals to eight (11-08) in a close contest. Waseem Parray was the top scorer from Kashmir, who netted 6 goals, while Fayaz Ahmed Mali scored 3 and Imran Ali 2 goals. For Jammu division, Aayush and Akshit netted 3 golas each, while Manandeep scored two.
Meanwhile, in girls section, Jammu division thrashed Kashmir division by four goals to one (4-1) in an easy contest. Simran Sharma and Nadhika Sharma scored 2 goals each for Jammu, while Ruksana was the solitary goal scorer from Kashmir division.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Singh, Sanjay Jamwal, Ajay Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Jyoti Sharma and Harvinder Kour.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, while Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu is the organizing secretary.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were ZPEO Chanchal Kour, Harvinder Kour and Rashpal Singh.
