SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Kashmir Division Ranking Carrom tournament underway at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar here today.
The championship was declared open by Adil Rashid Shah (President) along with Mudasir Khan (General Secretary), Arif Sultan Vice President & Organising Secretary, Sheikh Saqib Joint Secretary, Dawar Rashid Assistant Secretary of the J&K Carrom Association were also present.
While giving information of this championship, the officials said that they have received around 120 entries from all over the Kashmir division and around 42 matches were played on the inaugural day of this championship. The competitions of Sub Junior, Junior & Senior categories in both boys and girls & men & women sections were held.
All the players and officials of the event, informed the gathering that we will get 8 ranking players in all the events of this tournaments and first four senior players will represent J&K UT at the 28th All India Federation Cup Carrom Tournament 2023-24 from 10.12.2023 to 13.12.2023 at Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), KRM Indoor Stadium, Gandhi Nagar, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The screening for the same would be held by J&K Sports Council.
In today’s results in senior Men Shahid Ahmad defeated Asif Ahmad, Hashim Aslam defeated Shah Abbas, Furqan Nazir defeated Aqib Zahoor, Arsalan Mehraj defeated Shadab Mir, Ajaz Maqsood defeated Ubair. In Senior Women; Mehak Nabi defeated Sabreena, Asra defeated Sayeena Yousuf, Adfar Imtiyaz defeated Sawlat Nazir, Minha defeated Kazima, Anzalna defeated Mehandi.
In Junior Boys; Zaid Bin Ajaz defeated Numan, Salman defeated Afaan, Saleem Jan defeated nair Abrar, Monik Singh defeated Sheikh Zahran. In Sub Junior Boys; Mohammda tabib defeated Hammad, Mohammad Tahoor defeated Rehan Altaf, Sharinjeet Singh defeated Mir Mujtaba, Aman Mushtaq defeated Shahid Ajaz while in Sub Junior Girls; Mahnoor defeated Kariha, Zehra defeated Adiba, Soliha defeated Hibra, Rida defeated Urwah.
