SILIGURI, Apr 10: Kashmir FC maintained their winning streak and registered a well deserving (1-0) win against Kenkre FC Mumbai in round-5 match of I-League Division 2nd at Siliguri in North Bengal.
The team started on the front foot from the start of the game with Rohit first going close with his rasping shot which hit the post.
It was then Faiz who dribbled past a couple of defenders and unleashed a venomous effort which again shook the crossbar.
In the 2nd half, the team again piled up pressure on Kenkre with Kareem’s attempted header going out of the cross bar.
Finally, the team was rewarded when Bisheshwor crossed in a fine ball which was duly headed into the back of the net by Ajay. The final score ended 1-0 in favour of Kashmir FC.
Coach Hilal and Assistant Coach Satpal Singh lauded the efforts of the players for displaying superb skill, while secretary of the Club, Majid Dar, though felt satisfaction over the win, yet thought that the team could have done better and increased the lead.
With this win Kashmir FC has climbed to the 2nd spot in the League and the administrators are hopeful of grabbing the top spot.
