Kashmir to Kanyakumari-Swachh Bharat Tour de Rotary to commence today

JAMMU, Nov 6: Kashmir to Kanyakumari Swachh Bharat Tour de Ro-tary is being conducted by Rotary Club of Madras Mid-town, RI Dist. 3230. This Rally is to promote 100 years of good work done by The Rotary Foundation and to raise Funds for its Humanitarian Service projects in-cluding Clean and Green India projects.
22 cyclists will cover the 4500 Kms, in 33 days, with 27 Flag-off points. They will start from Jammu on November 7, 2016 which will be flag off by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, IGP Jammu Danesh Rana and Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh.
Dr Manmohan Singh, Commissioner Jammu Municipality and the Cyclists will travel through Delhi, Jaipur, Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram to reach Kanyakumari on the December 9, 2016.
Union Ministry of Urban Development along with the en-route Local Urban Bodies and Rotary Clubs are supporting this event, to create awareness on Swachh Bharat.
This was stated by president of Rotary Club of Madras Midtown Rtn Ambalavanan during a press conference. Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Municipal Commissioner, Dr Manmohan Singh also addressed the press conference.
Coordinator Dr Dushyant Choudhary, President Rotary Club Jammu Tawi Rtn BR Chandan ,Rtn Vikram Jindal from Chennai and Rtn Ashok Gupta and Jatinder, Jaswant from Jammu Rotary Club were also present on the occasion.
