Srinagar, Feb 28: People’s Conference President Sajjad Lone stressed the critical importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, noting that the people of Jammu and Kashmir urgently require representation in Parliament to voice their grievances.
Speaking on the sidelines of a function today, he emphasised the necessity for dialogue with New Delhi, asserting that successful elections are pivotal for ensuring effective representation and addressing longstanding issues.

Expressing confidence in his party’s prospects, Lone underscored the significance of the people’s choice. “Kashmiris want sincere representatives who will address their issues, regardless of party lines,” he said.
Furthermore, Lone called for the prompt restoration of Kashmir’s elected government to uphold residents’ rights equal to those of citizens in other states.
”The Assembly elections should also be held before September 30 so that the people of Kashmir enjoy the same rights as people in other states,” he said.
