Kashmiri cricketers calls on AP governor

Hyderabad, Feb 23:

 A group of 20 cricket players known as Budgam Blue from the Narbal, Budgam District called on Andhra Pradaesh Governor ESL Narasimhan, at Raj Bhavan  here  today.

   The cricketers shared with him their experiences during their tour to the state.

   The 15-day motivational cum sports tour was organised by the 2 Rashtriya Rifles (SIKH LI) under the aegis of 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles (Indian Army) as part of operation Sadbhavana Programme.

   Interacting with the players, Mr Narasimhan inquired about the places they had visited in Hyderabad and their experience.

   In the players list of  many whom had visited a place outside Kashmir valley for the first time, said it was an excellent opportunity they got to see the historical important places in Hyderabad and to enrich their cricketing experience through friendly matches.

   The Governor presented gifts to the team and wished them a bright future ahead.

   A reciprocate memento was also presented to the Governor by the team as a memorabilia on this occasion.

   During their four day motivational and educational tour, the students from remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir, have visited Golconda Fort, Charminar, Hussain Sagar Lake, Lumbini Park, Salarjung Museum, Ramoji Film City and different shopping malls in Hyderabad and also played a friendly cricket match, at Mumtaz College ground, defeating AR Cricket Academy.

   The team members have also visited MCEME in Secunderaabad, where they were received by Brig A Ganguly, Dean Faculty of Electronics.

   The team visited various laboratories including simulator development wing. Post the visit to MCEME the team called on Brig Rajendar Bhatiya, Commander Basantar Brigade. The team got an exposure to the world of technology during their visit to Microsoft Technologies  in Hyderabad and left for Pune, in the last leg of their tour. (UNI)
