Kashmir’s topmost entertainment channel hacked, taken down

Srinagar, Dec 21: Valley’s topmost YouTube channel ‘Kashmir Kalkharabs’ with more than 7 lakh subscribers was today hacked and taken from the global video platform YouTube.
The team which is operating the said YouTube channel informed its viewers that the channel has disappeared from the platform after it was taken down from YouTube due to its community guideline violations.
“Our channel has been hacked by someone and is streaming bitcoin… and is also sharing spam links which have resulted in the community guidelines strike to our channel,” the team wrote on social media.
What appears to be the issue is that the channel was hacked by some unknown person who later shared and streamed stuff which was in violations to the YouTube guidelines.
The violation later resulted in striking down of the channel by YouTube from its platform and the channel disappeared.
A member of the Kashmiri Kalkharab team, Yawar who later appeared in the Facebook live also briefed their viewers about the hacking incident.
He, however, said that the channel has been retrieved and that they are in touch with the YouTube India to sort the issue out.
“We are getting calls, our channel is not available, 30 minutes ago our channel was hacked and this can happen with any channel. There is a live stream and a spam link was shared due to which the channel was taken down. We are on it, though the channel has not been retrieved fully; emails have been recovered, the channel stands terminated, however, we are in contact with the Team YouTube,” he said.
Another member of the channel Pervaiz Ahmad said that they have retrieved the channel; however, it stands blocked by the YouTube which will be sorted out soon.
Notably, the channel is known for its funny content which is has been producing for the last several years now. The channel was first of its nature in Kashmir and soon gained popularity among the masses to be listed at the top among the YouTube channels in Kashmir that are creating such content.
