AKHNOOR, June 22: Defeating Vijayanta Cricket Club, Akhnoor by 4 wickets, Kashyap Cricket Club sailed into the next round of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Electing to bat, Vijayanta Club scored a modest total of 130 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Jimmy Mangotra top scored with 36 runs, which included 5 boundaries and one six, while Chandan Sharma contributed 20 with the help of 4 fours. Jimmy Mani and Naveen chipped in 14 and 13 runs respectively. For Kashyap Club, Kuldip Kumar, Rahul Mussa, Rohit Sharma and Pankaj scalped 2 wickets each, while Satish Kumar claimed one wicket.
Kashyap Club, in reply chased the target in 18.5 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Nipun was top scorer with 40 runs off 42 balls, which included 6 boundaries, while Amrit Pal Singh scored unbeaten 33 runs in 24 balls with the help of 4 boundaries. Rahul Mussa contributed 13 off 11 balls, while Ajay Sharma, Zeeshan Akram and Puneet Wattal chipped in 10, 9 and 8 runs respectively. For Vijayanta Club, Jimmy Mangotra claimed 2 wickets, while Abitash claimed one. Nipun of Kashyap Club was declared man of the match for his fabulous knock.
The match was officiated by Sham Singh Langeh and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Deepak Kumar acted as the scorer.
