JAMMU, Aug 13: Two day-long 12th Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT) Gatka Championship 2023 concluded here in Jammu, where district Kathua remained overall champion.
In the closing ceremony of the 12th J&K-UT Gatka Championship 2023 for both categories organized by Gatka Association of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu chaired by Surjit Singh and Balvinder Singh members DGPC and Samarpaul Singh as a special guest of honour at Langar Hall Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jammu.
The trophies and medals were awarded to Kathua District which lifted the overall trophy, Jammu District remained on 2nd place and Samba district remained at 3rd place in the championship.
Surjit Singh appreciated Gatka Association Jammu and Kashmir (GAJK) for organizing and providing players a platform for the promotion of Sikh Martial art game Gatka and winning teams for their excellent performance in this competition and assured full cooperation of DGPC in future for supporting and promoting such type of activities.
Balvinder Singh also appreciated the efforts of the association for bringing Gatka Games on National level by winning gold medals in Inter -University, Inter- School and others competitions since last one decade.
Earlier, Dr. Manmeet Singh, Chairman Gatka Association Jammu and Kashmir (GAJK) presented a welcome address in presence of General Secretary, GAJK Ravinder Singh.
