Police Martyr’s Memorial T-20

KATHUA, Dec 22: Kathua Knight Riders and Kathua District Cricket Association team scripted wins in the ongoing 10th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here today.
The first match of Group-B was played between Kathua Knight Riders and Sabhi Cricket Club, Hoshiarpur wherein Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur team won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, Kathua Knight Riders made 121 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets in the process. The main scorers of the team were Abhishek who made 35 runs off 22 balls, studded with 3 boundaries along with 1 six , while Suresh Kumar scored 34 runs off 38 balls with the help of 4 boundaries.
In reply, Sabhi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur bundled out at 106 runs in the 19 overs. Kashish scored highest 37 runs off 32 balls, studded with 2 boundaries. Thus, Kathua Knight Riders won the match by 15 runs. Suresh Kumar was declared as man of the match for his allround performance.
The 2nd match was played between Kathua District Cricket Association (KDCA) and JKP-XI wherein JKP XI Kathua won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 90 runs by losing all wickets in 19.3 overs. Khalid scored 23 runs off 25 balls, while Gourav made unbeaten 22 runs off 28 balls.
In reply, KDCA easily chased the target in the 13.3 overs by losing only 4 wickets and registered 6 wickets win over JKP-XI. Aditya made 24, while Sanam scored 21 runs.
Rompy was the wrecker-in-chief who took 4 wickets by conceding 9 runs in four overs and was awarded with man of the match award.
