KATHUA, Aug 31: Kathua Softball Championship was inaugurated by Er. Sandeep Majotra, District Development Council, Nagri here today.
The championship is being organized by District Kathua Softball Association under the aegis of J&K Softball Association in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
The chief guest highlighted the tremendous steps taken for development and promotion of Sports in Jammu & Kashmir by the Government. Besides this, he said involvement of young players in Softball in particular and other Sports in general would shun the evils of drug menace which is spreading alarmingly nowadays.
The Chief Guest also lauded the efforts of organizers for conducting such events. He also assured support from his end in future for the promotion of Softball in Kathua. In the two day championship more than 280 players are participating in Sub-Junior Boys, Girls, Junior Boys, Girls and Senior Men and Women categories. The championship is being organized under the supervision of Arun Sharma. There were nine matches to be played in different age groups.
Ajay Singh has been assigned the charge of chief tournament Director. Technical Official who are supporting ongoing District Kathua Softball Championship 2023 as Referees, Scorer’s consists of Sagar Chib and Pradeep Singh, Ayush Singh Janwal.
