Katra-Delhi Expressway to boost economic activity: Suri

JAMMU, July 17: J&K is going to be a hub of socio-economic boom in few years, especially after it is linked with national capital via six-lane Katra-Delhi Expressway, survey on which is underway.
This was stated by J&K BJP Executive Member, Raman Suri in a handout.
Suri also claimed that once constructed and made fully operational, the expressway will enable J&K business community, traders, students and others to travel from Katra to Delhi in six hours only.
Lauding efforts of Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh for pursuing this project vigorously and connecting maximum villages with the highway so that they too get benefitted, Suri said development of the proposed expressway has been taken under Union Government’s Bharatmata Pariyojana.
He also said, this expressway will also be fitted with sophisticated ‘Intelligent Transport System’ and ‘Incident/Accident Management’ controlled by Advance Traffic Management System such as Emergency Call Boxes, Mobile Communication System, Variable Message Sign System, Video Incident Detection System, which will enable safe travel to commuters.
