KATRA, Jan 19: Katra Police has busted an inter-State gang of bike lifters and seized stolen motorcycles from their possession besides arresting the accused persons .
The arrested accused were identified as Anmol Dogra, son of Prem Kumar, resident of Ward number 13, Matyal Katra , Anku, son of Majeed, resident of Railway Road Katra and Gallu son of Shafi, resident of Assar, Doda.
During questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in theft of Bullet Motorcycle, bearing registration number JK14A-5576 . The said motorcycle of Rajan Kumar of Hansali Katra was stolen from Katra on January 11, 2021 and a written complaint in this regard was lodged at PS Katra.
The arrested accused disclosed that they had sold the motorcycle to a person belonging to the Punjab State. On this, a Police party proceeded towards Ludhiana- Punjab and recovered two Bullet motorcycles, including stolen one from the person named by the arrested accused.
According to Police, more recoveries are expected in further course of investigation. The recovery was made by SHO P/S Katra, Inspr Sunil Sharma, assisted by SI Suman Singh and ASI Fazal Din of P/S Katra under the supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh and SP Katra Amit Bhasin.
