JAMMU, Nov 21: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today kick-started upgradation of lanes and drains in Ward No: 57 at Model Town here.
He was accompanied by the officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The construction work of lanes and drains will be executed by the JMC at an estimated cost of Rs 9.38 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker directed JMC officers to complete the works in a time-bound manner while maintaining quality.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government, Kavinder said the Government is committed to develop all the three regions of the State which will witness new era of development in the days to come. He also stressed upon the people to avail the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes like ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and ‘Laadli Beti’ etc.
Interacting with the Speaker, people of the area put forth various demands related to power, water supply and repair and maintenance of rest of lanes and drains in the area.
Responding to the demands of the locals, Kavinder Gupta assured them that their genuine demands would be redressed on priority.
