Kaw guides Young Star to Police Friendship Cup finals

JAMMU, Dec 21: First-class cricketer Vimarsh Kaw helped Young Star Cricket Club to register a narrow win over Simula Cricket Club in the semifinal clash to enter the finals of the ongoing Police Friendship Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, put into bat, Young Star Cricket Club rode on a superb knock of 75 runs by Vimarsh Kaw, scored a decent total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Kaw sent the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt by smashing six boundaries and two massive sixes in his 57-ball knock. Bansi Lal also contributed valuable 36 runs off 29 balls with the help of 3 boundaries, while Sahil Bhalwal chipped in with 20 runs with the help of 3 fours and one six. Hardeep Singh bagged 2 wickets for Simula Club, while Shashi claimed one.
In reply, Simula Club could manage to score 143 runs in the allotted overs by losing 5 wickets, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 10 runs. Shashi was the top scorer with 48 runs off 43 balls, studded with 3 fours and one six, while Hardeep Singh contributed 36 runs to the total. Atul Sharma and skipper Dhruv Mahajan scored 24 and 15 runs respectively. For Young Star Club, Sahil Bhalwal was the most useful bowler, who took 2 wickets in his 4 overs by conceding 16 runs, while Vimarsh Kaw claimed one wicket. Kaw was adjudged man of match for his superb batting display. The match was officiated by Suhail and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires, while Sanjay was the scorer.
Young Star will now meet the winner of the second semifinal match between Rainawari Cricket Club and JKAP XI.
