KC Gurukul organizes inter school French Translation Competition

JAMMU, May 16:  Inter-school French Translation Competition was organized   at KC Gurukul Public School Paloura in its school premises, here today.
Four prominent schools namely Jodhamal Public School, KC Public School, Jammu Sanskriti and the host KC Gurukul participated in it.
Chief guest on this occasion was Sanjay Mattoo (Station Manager, Jet Airways) and Dr Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Director IGNOU was the guest of honour on this occasion.
The competition was organized by Arun Sharma, president French Club Jammu and coordinated by Neera Dogra, Seema Gondhi and Suram Singh.
The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries present followed by dance and song items presented by the senior and junior students. Sheita Khanna of KCGPS presented an Italian Song which was the main highlight of the event.
Students participated in the one and a half hour competition with lots of enthusiasm and interest. The declaration of the result will be in the following week.
Speaking on this occasion  Vijay Puri, Academic Director of the school emphasized  the need for having such competitions more often and urged the student community to take up French as the 2nd  and 3rd language as it is the 2nd most popular language of the world next only to English.
Chairman of the school, Arvind Mahajan lauded the efforts of the French Club for bringing students on one platform for this event.
Rakhi Koul conducted the proceedings of the programme.
