JAMMU, June 4: To help students avoid miscommunication and misinterpretation and help them in correct word pronunciation, a workshop on ‘English and correct Pronunciations’ was organized at KC International School here yesterday.
Darshan Sharma was the resource person on the occasion, who is trained in Pronunciation and Phonemes from the University of Oregon in USA.
He stressed on the correct pronunciation of every word and took a session on word stress and sentence stress.
He also showed ways in which stress should be laid and how its interpretation changes. He also taught the sounds and symbols of phonetics.
The entire staff of KC International School attended the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion Principal, Dr Ravi Bhushan also stressed on the correct pronunciation of the words.
He said as futuristic educators this is an important skill for the teachers, adding that correct pronunciation of words is important in all languages and educators must have proper knowledge and must use correct pronunciation to imbibe the same in their students.
