JAMMU, Oct 17: Girls Higher Secondary School, Akh-noor won Gold in Girls’ Volleyball summit clash by smashing APS Miran Sahib. GHSS Shastri Nagar won Bronze.
MLA Bishnah, Kamal Arora was the chief guest at MA Stadium for the medal ceremony of Volleyball final.
Presentation Convent School won Gold in Table Tennis girls’ doubles by beating Delhi Public School 3-0. GD Goenka won bronze in the same event.
KC Public School bagged 2 Gold—one each in boys’ and girls’ Table Tennis Singles events. Shreya Mahajan of KC Public School won Gold in Girls’ singles, whereas, Ritvik Gupta of KC Public School won Gold in boys’ Singles.
Meanwhile, Sainik School, Nagrota added two more Gold, one Silver and one Bronze in its kitty. Nitish Raj of Sainik School, Nagrota won Gold in 1500 meters with timing of 4 minute 34 seconds. Sainik School, Nagrota also won Gold in 4×100 metres relay, in which MHAC, Nagbani won Silver and BSF Paloura won Bronze.
Abhinav Kundal of KV No. 2 won Gold in 400 meters with timing of 52 seconds.
MLA Khour Dr Krishan Lal was the chief guest at BSF Campus, Paloura, who distributed medals to the winners of different events of Athletics.
In other events, pre-quarter finals were held in boys’ Football. Quarterfinals were held in boys’ Basketball. In first semifinal of girls’ Basketball, APS Kaluchak defeated Jodhamal School to reach the final, whereas in the second semifinal, APS Jammu Cantt defeated APS Ratnuchak to take on APS Kaluchack in the final. Quarterfinals were also held in boys’ Volleyball. The finals of boys’ and girls’ Hockey will be conducted at KK Hakku Stadium tomorrow.
