JAMMU, May 17: India’s astounding diversity came vibrantly alive in the Costumed Heritage Walk, organized by KC Public School for the students of Classes 4th and 5th as part of their involvement in the British Council’s International School Award (ISA) programme activities.
The students were divided into various groups representing different States of India.
The colourful pageant was magical and mesmerizing. Parents were also invited to take part in the event.
The States covered in the pageant were Kerala, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat.
The rich colours of traditional costumes from different ethnic zones of India were a joy to behold.
Celebration of the colourful heritage of Malaysia was part of this pageant in the form of some children dressed in traditional apparel of that Country.
A School in Malaysia is the global partner School working on the Heritage Project in collaboration with KC Public School.
The objective of the Walk was to make students aware that the values of the Country inherent in its culture connect the past and the future generations of that Country.
The Walk also made the students to understand that preservation of heritage plays a constructive role in the social evolution of communities, regions and nations.
