KC Public School students attend Model United Nations Conference

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Oct 13: Ten students of KC Public School led by CCA Coordinator Shobna Sethi attended a 3 days’ Model United Nations Conference at Wellham Boys’ School Dehradun. This international event encouraged young people to hone their skills in engaging with global events through role-plays as diplomats and representatives. In this Conference, they debated and deliberated over a wide range of international issues and suggested ways and means to resolve them. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Diplomacy and Discourse’. Nearly 300 students from India and UAE participated in the Conference. During sessions, they worked in small groups and also got the opportunity to address the entire United Nations Council. Significant organs of the UNO such as Disarmament and International Security Committee, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Economic and Social Council, UN Human Rights Council, Special Council of Superheroes and Villains, Continuous Crisis Committee, Historic Special Summit, All India Political Parties’ Meet and International Press Corps were simulated during the Conference. Isha Khurana, Ninad Mahajan, Manvika Gupta, Shreya Mohan, Hanumat Sharma, Radhika Singhal, Ayushman Sharma, Khewan Kachroo, Shivangi Saini and Karan Dhar represented KCPS at the Conference. IshAKhurana and Ninad Mahajan were awarded Verbal Mention as members of the double delegation to United Nations General Assembly.
