JAMMU, May 7: Students of Class IX-F of KC Public School staged an English Play ‘The Refund’ at the Mandua Open Air Theatre at School Campus in front of parents.
Dr. Seema Rohmetra, a senior professor at the University of Jammu and also a parent of the school attended the performance as a special guest.
The evening concluded with a lively dance performance by the girls of class VI on the theme of ‘Save Earth’.
The play ‘The Refund’ is a hilarious comic play in which an ex student of a school returns to the school demanding the refund of the tuition fees he had paid to the school 18 years ago on the grounds that he had learned nothing in the school.
Aryan Jamwal, Prajwal Sharma, Utkarsh, Avnish Pandoh, Parth Pandita, Amodhini Karwani and Shakha as lead actors in the play performed their roles well and made their parents laugh at frequent intervals.
Commenting on the play after giving away participation certificates to the students involved in the stage production, Dr. Rohmetra praised the students for their excellent performance. She added that the play is a stinging satire on the deplorable quality of education that does not build the character of a learner and merely imparts bookish and theoretic knowledge.
In his thanks-giving speech, Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra expressed his gratitude to Dr. Rohmetra for sparing her valuable time to grace the occasion and also thanked parents for their support to the school in taking learning beyond the classroom and encouraging their children to take part in co-curricular activities.
