KC Sports Club, WCC outplay rivals, register berths in next stage

JAMMU, June 29: KC Sports Club and New Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) outplayed rivals in their respective league matches and registered berth in the next stage of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School Cricket ground.
The first match of the day was played between KC Sports Club (KCSC) and White Cricket Club (WCC), in which former registered win by 34 runs.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, KC Sports Club set a target of 157 runs in 20 overs. Pranav played a splendid inning of 53 runs, whileas Surgal made 35 runs.
For WCC side, Sonu was the wrecker-in-chief with 3 wickets, whereas Rahal also displayed good bowling skills and took 3 wickets.
In reply, WCC failed to chase the target and was bundled out at 123 runs for all out in 17 overs. Sanjay was top scorer with 21 runs and Rajesh made 20 runs.
From KCSC side, Bablu was pick-of-the-bowler with 3 wickets and Karan Bhat took 2 wickets.
Pranav of KCSC was declared as ‘Man of the Match’.
The second match of the day was played between new Challenger Cricket Club (NCCC) and Striker Cricket Club (SCC), in which latter emerged as winner by 7 wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, SCC scored 97 runs in 19 overs. Jagandeep and Jimmy scored 23 and 13 runs respectively.
For NCCC side, Deepak Manhas and Ashu scalped 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, NCCC chased the target in 10.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Ashu was the top scorer with 40 runs and Deepak made 30 runs.
Ashu of NCCC was adjudged as ‘Man of the Match’.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Bunty Kumar, Honey Chib, Rajinder Singh and Abhijot Singh.
