JAMMU, June 8: KC Sports Club, Laxmi Cricket Club and Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) registered convincing wins over their rivals in the ongoing Simula T20 Super League, being played at Science College Hostel ground here today.
The in which ten premier teams namely JCC, NCC, Simula, Shastri, RCC Srinagar, J&K Sports Promoters Club, KCCC, KC Sports Club, Singh Club and Laxmi CC are participating is being organized by Simula Global Group of Companies and Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and supported by JK Channel.
The organizing committee IS headed by Hilal Rather, MD Simula Group, while the committee members include Desh Rattan Dubey, Joint Secretary JKCA, Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA, Anshuman Sharma, Mohit Puri, Atul Sharma, Vivek Thapa, Vikram Singh, Shashi, Beant Singh and Vishal, while Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy Player is the Coordinator.
Earlier, in the first match played today, KC Sports Club defeated Singh Cricket Club by 24 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 163 runs in 20 overs. In-form Ateev Saini scored magnificent 83 runs, while Abhishant and Gourav contributed 28 and 21 runs respectively.
From bowling side Toyab and Sunil took 1 wicket each.
Singh Cricket Club, in reply, scored 139 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 24 runs. Sonu (51) and Sunny (39) were the main scorers.
From KC Sports Club, Ateev Saini took 6 important wickets, while Abhishant took 2 wickets and Arjun Choudhary claimed 1 wicket. Ateev Saini was adjudged as the man of the match and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1000.
In the second match, Laxmi Club defeated RCC by 86 runs.
Batting first, Laxmi scored 168 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Dhruv Mahajan (47) , Akash Ohri (40) and Ashu (23) were the main scorers. From RCC Srinagar, Praful Dhar took 3 important wickets of Dhruv Mahajan, Sameer Khajuria and Rohit Bhat, while Manjeet Singh bagged 2 wickets. RCC, in reply, bundled out for paltry 82 runs. Dilbag Singh top scored with 27 runs, while Aryan Dogra contributed unbeaten 17 runs and Musaif Ajaz chipped in with 15 runs.
From Laxmi CC, Monu took 3 wickets, while Sant Baksh took 2. Sameer Khajuria and Nitin Mehra shared 1 wicket each. Akash was adjudged as man of the match and was awarded Rs 1000 as cash prize.
In another match, KCCC outplayed J&K Sports Promoters Club on the basis of net run-rate in a rain curtailed match.
Batting first, J&K Sports Promoters Club scored 112 runs in 18.1 overs. Pankaj Lada scored 36 runs, while Rompy Sharma and Abhinav Puri contributed 21 and 15 runs respectively.
From KCCC, Bandeep Singh took 3 wickets, while Manik Gupta and Ramdayal took 2 each. Akash and Ankush claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, KCCC were 48/1 in 6 overs when rain interrupted the play and the Jury of the organizers declared KCCC winner on the basis of net run-rate. The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Saleem-ur-Rehman, Madan Mohan, Sandeep and Vinod Kandayara.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Shastri Cricket Club will take on Singh Cricket Club at 8 am, Simula will meet JCC at 12.30 pm and J&K Sports Promoters Club will face NCC at 3 pm.
