JAMMU, June 12: Kings Cricket Club (KCC) defeated Gundalia Cricket Club (GCC) in a thrilling contest via super-over in the 1st Devinderpal Singh (Crown) Memorial Cosco Cricket Tournament, which got underway at High School Simbal Camp, today.
After both the sides managed to score 65 runs in the stipulated 10 overs, the match was left to super-over for the decision, wherein KCC prevailed over GCC by 2 runs, former scoring 13 runs and the latter 11 runs.
Earlier, batting first, KCC scored 65 runs in the allotted 10 overs by losing 9 wickets. Punit, Rajan and Amar contributed 21, 17 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For GCC, Victor claimed 3 wickets, while Abi and Kala bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, GCC also scored 65 runs in the stipulated 10 overs, with Kala being the top scorer with 21 runs, while Victor and Abi contributed 17 runs each to the total. Navjeet, Bunty and Mani claimed 2 wickets each for KCC.
The match was officiated by Talvinder Singh and Gagandeep Singh as umpires, while Gini was the scorer. The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of organizing committee including Barjinder Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Manpreet Singh, while GS Michael is the organizing secretary.
