KCCC, Chandwan XI script convincing victories

JKCA’s District Level Cricket Tournament

JAMMU. May 13: Formidable Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) and Chandwan XI registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing District Level Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) across the State.
At GGM Science College Hostel ground, Kishan Chand Cricket Club defeated National Cricket Club (NCC) in an easy contest by 38 runs.
Batting first, Kishan Chand Cricket Club scored 155 runs in the stipulated 35 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Soumay Jain top scored with 36 runs, while Bandeep Singh, Jatin Wadhawan, Manik Gupta, Shubham Khajuria and Raman Thaploo contributed 28, 25, 24, 19 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Yatin Saberwal and Sahil Bhalwal took 2 wickets each for National Cricket Club, while Vishwajeet claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, NCC managed to score 117 runs, thus lost the match by 38 runs. Aditya Partap Singh scored a magnificent half-century (58), while Gokul Baru and Sahil Bhalwal contributed 31 and 15 runs to the total respectively. From KCCC, Manik Gupta was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets, while Sawan Singh, Sahil Lotra and Shubham Khajuria took 2 wickets each. Manik Gupta was declared as the man of the match for his all-round show.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh, Rahul and Saleem-ur-Rehman.
At Police Lines Kathua, Chandwan XI defeated Saabji XI in a thrilling contest by 1 wicket.
Batting first, Saabji XI scored 203 runs in the allotted 40 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Arun and Prince scored 58 and 49 runs respectively. From Chandwan XI, Sanjeev Singh captured 3 wickets, while Vikram claimed 2.
In reply, Chandwan XI scored 207/9 in 34.3 overs to win the match in an exciting contest by 1 wicket. Manish and Gourav contributed 43 and 41 runs to the total respectively. From Saabji XI, Dimple took 3 wickets and Vinod claimed 2.
