KCCC, JCC seal berths in semis

JAMMU, Apr 30: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the quarterfinals, Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) and Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) Blue sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing 5th Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first quarterfinals, KCCC Blue defeated Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor by 9 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, SCC Akhnoor bundled out for 90 runs in 18 overs. Sumit (13), Dilawar (12) and Chander Kiran (11) were the main contributors. For KCCC, Ankush Bnadral was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 important wickets, while Bandeep Singh and Sahil Lotra bagged 2 wickets each. Soumay Jain and Vishal claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KCCC chased the target in 10.4 overs by losing 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Jatin top scored with 56 runs, while Suryansh and Gourav contributed 16 and 9 runs to the total respectively. Sonu Malhotra took the lone wicket to fall. Ankush Bandral was adjudged as man of the match.
In another quarterfinal played today, JCC drubbed KC Sports Club by 7 wickets. Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 133 runs in the allotted overs. Amritpal Singh top scored with 33 runs, while Gourav and Yudvir contributed 22 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For JCC, Paras Sharma, Jaipal and Ankush Gill took 2 wickets each, while Shubham Pundhir and Deepak Dogra claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JCC chased the target easily by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Sandeep Singh (53 off 33) and Shubham Pundhir (50 off 41) slammed brilliant half-centuries, while Paras Sharma chipped in with 18 runs. For KC Sports Club, Yudhvir took 2 wickets, while Vivek Sharma claimed one. Sandeep Singh was declared as man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
