KCCC, RCC Srinagar enter semis of JKPL T20

JAMMU, May 8: Affiliated clubs of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) namely Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) and Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC), Srinagar registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
In the first quarterfinal, KCCC defeated Sidhant Cricket Academy by 65 runs.
Batting first, KCCC scored a decent total of 160 runs in 19.5 overs. Pardeep Bali top scored with 55 runs, while Jagteshwar Singh contributed 24 runs to the total. Nipun Verma and Raman Thaploo chipped in with 17 and 13 runs respectively. Pankaj Sasun took 2 wickets, while Prince and Rohit claimed one wicket.
In reply, Sidhant Cricket Academy managed to score a paltry total of 95 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 65 runs. Raghav Sharma scored unbeaten 27 runs, while Rohit and Prince chipped in with 13 and 11 runs respectively. Abhishek also scored 11 runs. Akash Choudhary, Pardeep Bali, Raman Dutta and Ankush Bandral bagged 2 wickets each, while Manik claimed one wicket. Pardeep Bali was declared as man of the match.
In another quarterfinal, RCC Srinagar defeated JKP XI by 23 runs in a close contest. RCC scored a modest total of 130 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Ahatsham, Ahmer Ikhlaq and Satish Kumar contributed with 30, 28 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Monu, Farooq and Abdul Samad shared 2 wickets each, while Majid and Ambrose claimed one wicket was each.
In reply, JKP XI was bundled out for 107 runs in 18.4 overs to lose the match by 23 runs. Farooq and Abdul Samad scored 23 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Rayees also chipped in with 15 runs. For RCC Srinagar, Puneet Kumar took 4 wickets, while Dilbagh Singh bagged 3 wickets. Skipper Kuldeep Kumar took 2 wickets. Puneet Kumar was adjudged as man of the match.
New Challengers will take on RCC Srinagar in the first semifinal, while Sarveshwar Cricket Club will face Wave Cricket Club in the quarterfinal tomorrow.
