Srinagar, May 10: Trustees of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Relief Trust (KCCI Relief Trust) today held a detailed interaction with the students of Government Women’s College during which scholarship cheques were disbursed among deserving students.
According to a statement issued here, the Chairman of the Trust, Mohammad Ibrahim Shahdad during his address emphasized on building of core value of honesty, dedication and time management. He called upon the student community to prefer books over food and become harbingers of knowledge.
“On the occasion scholarship cheques worth Rs. 2, 55,000 were disbursed among 51 deserving students by chairman. The function was attended by KCCI president, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, Secretary General, Faiz Ahmad Bakshi, Abdul Majeed Matto, Rauf Ahmad Punjabi, Altaf Ahmad Tramboo and Fayaz Ahmad,” the statement said.
The college principal while expressing gratitude to the Trust for their philanthropic attitude and concern for deserving student community informed about the loss of precious library of around one lakh books of the college damaged in the September 2014 floods of which hardly few thousand books could be retrieved. “The KCCI Relief Trust announced a monetary support of Rs.50,000 to college library for procurement of fresh books,” the statement added.
