‘KCITHON -22’ organised at KC Int’l

JAMMU, Nov 11: KC International School organized a marathon for students, teachers and parents to instill the spirit of healthy life, here today.
The aim of the event was to inculcate and promote a healthy lifestyle among people and also the virtues of resilience, endurance and sportsmanship. The chief guest of the event was the School President, Chaitanya Chowdhary.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 153 teachers, students and parents. Students from 6th to 8th covered a distance of 3 km, whereas teachers, parents and students from 9th to 12th covered the distance of 5 km in this run.
The marathon was flagged off by Principal, Anupama Sinha. All the participants pledged to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
At the end of the event, runners were felicitated with gold, silver and bronze medals under three categories. The medals were distributed by the chief guest, wherein 6-8 students’ category, the first position was bagged by Raheem Rajput, followed by Harshdev Singh (2nd), Montek Singh (3rd ), Sujal (4th) and Hardeep Singh (5th).
In the 9-12 students’ category, Ashutosh Sharma (Sports Captain) got 1st position, followed by Ashutosh Agnihotri who bagged 2nd position, Adijay Mehta (3rd), Pradyuman (4th) and Shivansh (5th).
In parents’ and teachers’ category, the first position was bagged by one of the enthusiastic parents, Deepak Bhat, while 2nd position was clinched by Navdeep Kohli, PGT, followed by Simranjeet Singh, PGT, (3rd), Sabita Rajput, PRT (4th), and another parent, Preeti Sharma (5th).
Three more participants including Bhavna Koul, PGT, Sonali Gupta, TGT and Roma Gupta, Senior School Coordinator received verbal mention for completing the run within the stipulated time limit.
“KCIS not only values academics but also understands the importance of healthy life as it not only changes one’s body but also one’s attitude, mind and mood,” said School Principal.
She appreciated the efforts of all the students, teachers and organizing committee members, especially Bhuvnesh Sharma and Komal Gupta and congratulated them for the successful event.
The event culminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
