KCMUN conference begins

JAMMU, Oct 28: The 5th edition of KC Model United Nations conference-23 began at the multi-purpose hall of KC Sports Club, highlighting the theme of the Conference: ‘Empowering Future Diplomats’.
Subha Mehta, Joint Director of Education was the chief guest on this occasion. Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of students. Chief Guest applauded KCPS for conducting the 5th edition of the MUN and how in the present global scenario, it becomes mandatory to make young leaders aware of the ground realities of global issues.
The event is being attended by more than 250 delegates from various schools of Jammu. After the opening ceremony on the first day, the delegates attended and took part in stirring sessions on topics like West African Crisis, Need for Gender Neutral Reforms, Health of Women, Uniform Civil Code and Statehood for Jammu and Kashmir under the aegis of six different committees such as UNSC, UNCSW, UNHCR, LOK SABHA, AIPPM and International Press. In the ice breaking session, the participants learnt how to come to an agreement and recommend solutions for the given agenda and how to express their thoughts.
The event is being given shape by KCMUN Committee consisting of Medhaj Pathania, Aashish Sharma, Rahul Anand, Ojasvi Raina, Ankita Khajuria, Nayan Pandita, Arpit Gandotra, Arnav Vaid, Harshita Manhas, Dyuti Sharma, Suhani Bhalla, Nairaa Gandotra, Navdeep Mahajan, Shaurya Mahajan, Vardan Raina, Mrinmay Mehta, Subhagi Sharma, Abhiraj Jamwal, Bhavya Sharma, Riddhima Bali and Lakshay Rehan. The Committee is being mentored by teachers Bhavna Langer and Deepti Sharma.
