KCPS delegates return home from prestigious Round Square Int’l Conference

JAMMU, Oct 4: Class 12th students of KC Public School namely Sahar Rohmetra, Ribhav Mittal, Amogh Bansal, Rachit Dogra and Parth Gupta returned home today after attending a week-long Round Square International Conference 2018, hosted by Ashbury College, Ottawa, Canada from September 27 to October 3, 2018.
They were accompanied by Chairman Raju Chowdhary; Managing Director, Arti Chowdhary and School RS Rep, Sonia Thakur as adult delegates at the Conference.
On reaching the venue of the Conference on the afternoon of September 27, they were given a warm welcome by Raju Chowdhary and Arti Chowdhary who had reached Ottawa a day earlier.
The Conference with the theme ‘Bring Your Difference’, took off with a formal Opening Ceremony on September 28 with around thousand delegates from all over the world in attendance, who were given a warm welcome by Norman Southward, Head of Ashbury College.
It was a special occasion for KCPS delegates since the school was officially inducted as a global member of the Round Square in the presence of King Constantine of Greece, President of Round Square, and his wife Queen Anne-Marie. Sahar Rohmetra proudly carried the flag of the school on the occasion and posed for photographs with the dignitaries along with other delegates from KCPS.
The schedule of the Conference after the opening ceremony consisted of several events and activities planned by the host school and spread over a period of five days.
On the first day, both adult and student delegates listened to eminent personalities such as Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian Prime Minister during their interactive sessions which were followed by baraza group discussions by student delegates.
Arti Chowdhary who had been invited to the Conference to give a presentation on the successful implementation of Round Square Discovery Framework (RSDF) at KC Public School held 2 sessions for adult delegates and received a positive response. The next 2 days engaged delegates in outdoor activities related to adventure and service during which they hiked in Parc Omega known for its wild life and enjoyed some adventurous sailing.
The conference concluded with a cultural evening on October 2 and a brief closing ceremony the next morning before delegates departed to their respective countries.
