KCPS students participate in British Council’s Drama Contest

JAMMU, May 13: Students of KC Public School (KCPS), which is an active member of the International School Award (ISA) Programme of the British Council, participated in a Drama Contest conducted by the British council at DLF Public School, Sahibabad (NCR).
The contest was organized by British Council with support from BBC. It was under the aegis of this programme that six students led by ISA coordinator of the School, Sonia Thakur and Cultural coordinator, Shobna Sethi participated in the contest.
It was a competition in a unique and challenging format. Students from 32 schools of NCR and KCPS Jammu were mixed at random and spilt into teams with equal number of participants in each team. As a result, no team had more than one student from a particular school.
Each team led by teacher-Mentors from participating schools was given a topic on the morning of the competition. The topics were based on values upheld and promoted by the Common Wealth.
Students from KCPS, who took part in the contest, were Shreya Mohan, Isha Khurana, Apporvi Gupta, Ninaad Mahajan, Aayushmaan Vasudev and Harry Sood.
Mrs Thakur as mentor of one team brought laurels to KCPS by making her team win the first position in the contest.
She received an appreciation certificate and a gift voucher of Rs 1000 from Oxford Books.
All participating students also received a certificate and a Common Wealth T-shirt specially designed for the occasion.
