JAMMU, July 9: Defeating their rivals convincingly in their respective matches today, KC Sports Club Juniors and Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar sealed berth in the quarterfinals of the ongoing KC Sports Club T20 Cricket Cup, being played at kc School ground, here.
In the first match played today, KCSC Juniors thrashed Whites Cricket Club (WCC) by a huge margin of 105 runs in a one-sided affair.
Batting first, KCSC Juniors scored a mammoth total of 204 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Rocky top scored with 52 runs, while Kasif and Zorawar contributed 41 and 40 runs to the total respectively. For WCC, Rohit took 3 wickets, Rajesh bagged 2 wicket and Mohil claimed one.
In reply, WCC collapsed at 99 runs in 18.2 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin. Mohil, Ashish and Raja contributed 18, 17 and 11 runs respectively. For KCSC Juniors, Devatts captured 3 important wickets, while Harsh Vardhan and Ashank claimed 2 wickets each. Yudhvir, Atul and Kasif also shared one wicket apiece. Rocky was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another match, RCC Srinagar defeated Mandal Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 9 runs.
Batting first, RCC scored a fighting total of 136 runs in 20 overs. Rahul Mussa top scored with 47 runs, while Ahtsham and Manjeet Singh contributed 32 and 24 runs to the total. From Mandal, Aman Singh took 2 wickets, while Parveen, Monu and Rohit claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Mandal Cricket Club scored 126 runs in 18.5 overs, thus lost the match by 9 runs. Sunny and Raman scored 35 and 31 runs respectively, while Monu Sharma contributed 14 runs to the total. For RCC, SKIPPER Puneet Wattal was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets, while Manjeet and Pranav bagged 2 wickets each and Praful Dhar claimed one wicket. Manjeet Singh was declared as the man of the match for his all-round show.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Madan Lal, Sandeep Manchanda and Vinod Kandayara.
