SRINAGAR, Jan 3 :  KDF which came into existence on October 25 last year and had pleaded for postponement of elections  on the day of its formation still proved effective and in all 15 constituencies KDF candidates fetched more votes than hundred year old party.
In a statement issued here today KDF Renzushah said despite KDF’s opposition to elections in view of havoc created by floods in the State, major political parties preferred elections but the people of Kashmir gave completely hung verdict which indicates their anger.
Shah said “at Sonwar KDF supported Lal Din was third in number. While as in Pattan Dr. Yatoo was ahead of many political stalwarts. Haji Abdullah at Sopore got more votes than dynastic political parties. We acknowledge that it was herculean task for one day old party to fight against political giants particularly in Kashmir but our candidates in Eidgah, Hazratbal, Sangrama, Tangmarg, Habba Kadal, Noorabad, Anantnag, Rafiabad and Kulgam proved their metal,” Renzushah added.
