Baramulla, Nov 19: The Kashmir Development Front (KDF)  candidate for Baramulla constituency, Muhammad Anwar Khan, is likely to join Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in next few days, sources said here.
Reliable sources said the BJP has been in contact with Khan from past few days and he may join the party and would be BJP’s face in Baramulla Assembly segment.
So far, BJP has not nominated any candidate for Baramulla constituency.
In an interesting development on Tuesday, Khan went to file his nomination papers, but returned back without filing them and later held a roadshow in the town as well in some other villages of Baramulla.
“Khan had received a call from top BJP leaders based in New Delhi and he changed his mind at the eleventh hour,” they said.
Reliable sources said three Ministers of BJP held a meet with Khan this evening in Srinagar.
Khan has been attracting good number of people in parts of Baramulla constituency during his door-to-door campaign and that may be the reason why BJP wants him into the party, sources added.
