JAMMU, Dec 20: Continuing with his developmental activities in his Constituency, Jammu East MLA of BJP Ashok Khajuria, laid the foundation stone for the construction of bed and protection walls of a deep nallah from Circular road to Balramji Temple in Dhounthali Dhakki area in presence of officers of UEED, party activists and general public.
Ashok Khajuria, while speaking on the occasion, said that the nallah flowing from Circular road and entering Tawi river while passing through Dhounthali Dhakki has been creating problems for the local inhabitants as well as the people visiting religious places. There was a dire need for laying proper concrete bedding and protection walls of the nallah for smooth and proper flow of water and garbage. He said that the total cost of the work stands at Rs. 30 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh has been already provided for initial stage from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He expressed hope that the Department will focus on quality work adding that he is committed to provide all the support and assistance in making available the basic amenities as well as financial assistance for various developmental works for the people of the Constituency.
Earlier, Khajuria also paid his obeisance at the sole historic temple of Balramji and announced to make available electronic musical instrument to be installed in the temple for recitation of morning and evening aarti.
BJP Jammu district vice-president Karan Singh expressed gratitude to the MLA for taking keen interest in developmental works in the area.
Besides UEED Executive Engineer Rajinder Sharma, AEE Sisar Khajuria and JE Rajinder Sharma, a large number of party activists and local people including Mohan Singh Chauhan, Naresh Abrol, Balbir Ram Rattan, Sohan Singh and others attended the function.
