JAMMU, Mar 12: A review meeting has held under the chairmanship of Director Urban Local Bodies Jammu, K L Khajuria, today at Housing Board Guest House Gandhi Nagar with the executive officers of the Municipal Councils/ Committees and engineering wing of the department.
Khajuria took stock of development activities being carried out under various schemes and directed the executive agencies to gear up the implementation of the ongoing projects so that the benefits of schemes percolate to the general masses. He stressed the need to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in and around the vicinity of the towns to prevent health hazards and for proper disposal of garbage from residential areas and water bodies.
Emphasis was laid for preparation of comprehensive DPRs under JNNURM by incorporating the admissible components as per guidelines of the schemes for sanction from Government of India.
He also assured that the matter regarding the genuine demands will be taken up at appropriate level for their early redressal. He asked the executive officers to work in a coordinated manner for the welfare of the society for achieving the end objective of equitable, realistic development.
