JAMMU, Nov 14: On 3rd day of on going 6- Day Kahani Workshop, jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Khalid Hussain, renowned Punjabi and Urdu short story writer and Nirmal Vikram, eminent Dogri short story writer, presented their short stories.
Prof Lalit Mangotra, Director of the said workshop and Convenor, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL and Dr Rattan Basotra, Assistant Editor, were also present in the presidium.
In the morning session, Khalid Hussain presented his Urdu short story ‘Baidey Di Lanka’ and also delivered an extension lecture on the creative process, craft, technique and style of writing of a short story. The participants also reacted on the short story presented by Khalid Hussain.
In the second session, Nirmal Vikram, the prominent short story writer of the region, presented her short story in Dogri titled ‘Maun Mritiu’. She also shared her experiences as short story writer and said that she attained this position as short story writer with the blessings and able guidance by the established Dogri writers of the region.
In the first session, the participants who presented their short stories on the given topic, include: Rajni Kumari, Harsimran Singh, Shivani, Avneet Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Rohini, Himani Bali, Abdul Qayoom, Priyanka, Khushi Wazir, Ritika, and Farhana Farooq.
All the short stories, presented by the participants were appreciated and hoped that most of the participants will excel in the field of creative writing if they continue writing in future.
Prof Lalit Mangotra conducted both the sessions of the day.Among others, who were present, included Dr Baljit Raina, Shiv Mehta, Joginder Padha and Chhattar Paul.
