Khalsa CC, Tawi Sports Club register victories

JAMMU, Dec 31: Khalsa Cricket Club and Tawi Sports Club scripted resounding wins over their rivals in the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, ground, here today.
In the first match played today, Khalsa Club defeated WCC by 32 runs in an easy contest.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Khalsa Club scored 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Romi top scored with 56 runs, while Lakhan and Nitin contributed 22 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For WCC, Rahul took 2 wickets, while Deepu and Latif claimed one wicket each.
In reply, WCC managed to score 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Rajesh Verma top scored with 28 runs, while Sanjay and Deepu contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively.  Manu scalped 4 important wickets for Khalsa Club, while Nitin took 3 wickets and Prithi claimed one. Manu was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, Tawi Sports Club defeated Singh Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 16 runs in a close contest.
Batting first, Tawi Sports Club scored a fighting total of 141 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Aryan Dogra top scored with 53 runs, while Nittin contributed 36 runs to the total and Surender chipped in with 15 runs.
Happy bagged 2 wickets for Singh Club, while Pardeep and Munna claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Singh Club bundled out for 125 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 16 runs. Vikram top scored with 36 runs, while Rinka and Binny scored 17 and 16 runs respectively. Surender was the most successful bowler for Tawi Sports Club, who scalped 3 wickets, while Nittin bagged 2 wickets and Anchal claimed one wicket. Aryan Dogra was declared as man of the match.
