KHC flays political parties for opposing rehabilitation of Pandits

JAMMU, June 12: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) in its meeting here, today held under the leadership of M L Thusoo advocate expressed concern over the attitude of various political parties who are creating doubtful feelings among people of Valley about the concentrated rehabilitation of Pandits in Kashmir.
In a statement KHC said that KPs are sandwiched between these political parties who exploit Kashmiri people over the mass exodus of Pandits in 1990. This way they are adding salt to injury. Omar Abdullah last time had accused PDP of opposing NC for bettering facilities to migrants living in camps and now NC is opposing the concentrated rehabilitation of KPs. This shows that two parties are actually sabotaging honourable and secure rehabilitation of KPs, statement added.
The handout said that in April this year the Union Government approved fresh rehabilitation plan for migrants but the political parties tactfully opposed it and this proposal was also kept withheld. It said that KPs have no place to live in Valley as their houses have been torched by the militants and this is fully known to all political parties. Instead of showing concern for the same they are dodging the return plan and deny rehabilitation to this miniscule minority in their homeland.
P L Koul Budgami convener KPC and other leaders addressed the meeting.
