SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Minister of State and Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi inaugurated Women’s Pencak Silat League 2023 at Indoor Stadium here today.
Dr Andrabi was the chief guest at inaugural ceremony of the event organized by Asmita under Khelo India Mission of Government of India. Many prominent teams participated in the event where many girls’ sportspersons exhibited their talent.
Dr Andrabi presented certificates of participation to the teams and individual sportswomen. Dr Andrabi hailed the efforts of Asmita for giving a platform to these talented girls. She said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed tremendous change in the sports sector during the last three years.
“We are really proud to see Girl Power who are achieving medals at the national and international platforms. Khelo India Mission has revolutionized our sports sector and India has emerged as a huge Sports Power,” she added.
