KISHTWAR, Jan 4: Defeating Kishtwar Royals by a big margin of 30 runs in the summit clash, Kishtwar Warriors lifted the title trophy of District Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, organized by Kishtwar District Tennis Ball Cricket Association at Chowgan Ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Warriors scored a decent total of 80 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. Henan Malik top scored with 35 runs, while Saleem contributed 30 runs to the total. For Royals Balwinder and Saqib took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Royals bundled out for 50 runs in 7.3 overs, thus lost the match by 30 runs. Rajesh and Dawood bowled brilliantly for Warriors to plot Royals’ collapse. Henan Malik was adjudged man of the match, man of the series and best batsman of the tournament, while Dawood who took 12 wickets in the tournament, including a hat-trick was declared best bowler and the best all-rounder award went to Saleem Sheikh.
Tehsildar Kishtwar was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
