MENDHAR, Dec 2: The members of Kissan Union including local labourers held protest again the Rural Development Department here today.
The workers led by Abdul Majid Choudhary, president of the Union assembled near main chowk in the town and started protest demonstration against RDD. They were demanding release of pending MGNREGA wages of the labour class members of the area. The speakers alleged that MGNREGA wages of the labour class members of the are e pending for the last about four years but concerned BDOs have failed to make the payments to the labourers. They demanded that all the pending wages of the poor labourers be cleared without any more delay. They alleged that despite clear norms to make payments within 15 days, the RDD has failed to make payments to the labourers even after 3-4 years.
They also tried to block the road but police foiled their attempt. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the local Administration.
