JAMMU, Dec 19: KK Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School Durang, Billawar district Kathua celebrated its Annual Day in school premises, here today.
On the occasion, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma was the chief guest while Prof Sham Lal Gupta, Ex-Director Higher Education (Colleges) was the guest of honour.
Principal of the school, Ashok Mehta presented the annual report highlighting the infrastructural up-gradation, achievements of the students and other scholastic activities introduced in school with aim to develop students holistically.
The event began with the lighting of spiritual lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries and prize distribution to the meritorious students who excelled in the field of education, sports, debates and other co-curricular activities.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma appreciated the efforts put by the school management for overall development of the children and applauded the quality of education and moral values provided by the school.
He requested the students to follow discipline, show respect towards the elders and asserted them along with academics and sports also to show keen interest and participation in co-curricular activities such as debates, symposiums, technical discussions, educational trips for their overall and development.
Dr Sharma further assured his full support for the smooth functioning and upliftment of the school.
The function was followed with cultural activities, march past, dances, skits and prize distribution.
Large number of parents marked their presence during the function.
The stage was supervised by Sumit Mehta Administrator and Salemlone from school management.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sarpanches Bholidevi, Joginder Kumar, Romesh Sapolia and Karan Singh.
