KMC demands security to pilgrimage on pattern of Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, May 24: In view of the unrest in Kashmir, a panel formed to co-ordinate the famous pilgrimage to the ‘Mata Kheer Bhawani’ shrine has demanded security similar to the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra.
“A Kheer Bhawani Mela Committee (KMC) has been setup for the first time for the smooth and secure yatra this year in view of the increasing unrest”, Convenor of Managing committee of KMC, Kiran Watal told reporters during a press conference here today.
This committee has been framed with aim to facilitate and coordinate the yatra from Jammu to Kheer Bhawani (Tulmul) in Ganderbal district of  Central Kashmir including facilities of buses, community kitchens, boarding and lodging apart measures of the security.

“We demand that Government should facilitate yatra on the pattern of the annual Amarnath Yatra. The cavalcade of vehicles should be set with security escorts in view of the security situation in Kashmir”, Watal said.
Flanked by the famous dharam gurus Omkar Nath Shastri, Swami Kumar Ji and Pawan Shastri, Watal said that buses would leave Jammu base camp on June 1 at 8 PM for Kashmir shrine, adding that some buses will leave for the other shrines of Mata Kheer Bhawani (Rogniya Bhagwati) in Manzgam (Kulgam), Shrine of Tiker (North Kashmir) and other places, most of over 100 buses will leave for Kheer Bhawani shrine in Ganderbal.
“The facilities for community kitchen, tented accommodations, transport has been finalized, he said and appealed to the Kashmiri Hindus and people of Jammu to take part in the yatra in large numbers to pay obeisance at shrine not only in Tulmul but also in Manzgam and Tikir”, Watal said.
