Kodewala Cricket Club lifts Samwan Panchayat Cricket Tournament title

JAMMU, Dec 30: Kodewala Cricket Club outplayed Kachrial Cricket Club by 49 runs and lifted the title trophy of the Samwan Panchayat Cricket Tournament, being played at Pallanwalla in Tehsil Akhnoor.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Kodewala CC scored 77 runs by losing 6 wickets in 12 overs. Vishal Sharma was the top scorer with 23 runs, while Love Singh made 15 runs and Dharminder chipped in 10 runs.
For Kachrial CC, Ankush and Hoshnak clinched 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Kachrial CC bowled out on paltry 28 runs by losing all the wickets in 8.2 overs. Vishal Sharma was the lone player to cross double digit by scoring 10 runs.
For Kodewala CC, Love Singh scalped 3 wickets and Vishal Sharma took 2 wickets. Shikander, Ajay Sharma, Sunil and Ashwani shared 1 wicket apiece.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Love Singh, whereas Man of the Series award was clinched by Hoshnak.
The match was officiated by Michael and Ankush as umpires, while Vishal maintained the scorecard.
On the valedictory function, Sham Singh Langeh President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was the chief guest who distributed trophies among the players and awarded the organizing Committee with a cash prize of Rs 2100.
Speaking on the occasion, Langeh advised all the players to keep their selves away from drugs and play games for sound health.
Others present on the occasion were Shashi Devi, Social Worker, Sanjeev Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Amit Mangotra and members of Organizing Committee.
The Tournament was organized by Kodewala CC under the supervision of Dharminder Sharma in which 6 teams from different panchayats took part.
